Since the 1976 Montreal Olympics, Australia has improved their performance in the Olympic games. There is a reason for that. Australia has spent big bucks in a training centre called the Australian Institute of Sport. 3 years the Australian Institute of Sports was opened, the Australians won 3 gold medals at the 1984 Olympic Games, 4 of them gold.                                          BtN- Chinese Olympics

The Chinese Government have been waiting and preparing for 7 years for these Olympics. That’s a long time and its costing the Chinese government 40 million dollars. But is it all worth it? The Chinese government hopes this will be one of the best Olympics in the history of modern Olympics. Or will these Olympics be remembered as one of where the Chinese government were cruel and tough on journalists and protesters.

The Chinese government has invested a lot of money into these Olympics to show the world how far it has come since the mid 1970’s when China had no money invested in future projects and in jobs and infrastructure. China wants these Olympics to be the best ever Olympics since the modern Olympics began in 1896. Its spent a lot of money on stadiums such as the birds nest and the water cube.

But what if these Olympics turn out to be not so great as everyone imagined it to be then the Chinese government would have just wasted 40 million dollars and they would have preparing for nothing. And maybe China has spent to much? Also China has a lot of issues to address such as human rights and journalist freedom. This week a BBC reporter was reporting on a free Tibet protest when some Chinese police noticed him tackled to the floor stood on his fingers Stoll his bag and detained him for 20 minutes.

My conclusion would be that China would be a good host for 2008 Olympic games as long as it addresses issues such as journalist freedom and human rights. And I don’t think China has over spent.

How would you feel if your pet cat Tiddles was banned from Australia? Well, a certain kind of cat has been. The Savannah cat is part serval and part domestic house cat, and has been banned because they pose more danger to the native environment than ordinary house cats. They are large, fast and athletic, as well as having the the instincts of the serval, which is one of the best hunters among the big cats, and these skills make it a dangerous threat if it gets loose into Australia.                                           Super cats!!

Savannah cats are the new super hero.

The cats are faster more agile and ex5tremely cute and its good to see that people are trying to make a new breed of cat and that they are trying to keep the animals from extinction.

But there is always a bad side to things the government believes that the cats will wreck the environment because normal cats eat up to 5000 native animals a year and the cats will do much worse.

In conclusion I think that the cats should not be aloud in the country.

The point of the story was to tell you about the new species of cats called the savannah and why they are being banned. The best way to describe the new super cat is exotic and playful. The savannah cat is referred as because it is faster more agile and boy can it jump. The savannah cat was created by crossing an African serval with a normal domestic cat.

Some characteristics of a serval are the quick strong and are really smart so they are considered one of the best hunters out of all the wild cats. Some people think super cats make great pets because they are very playful and you can even walk them around on a lead. The down side to these great pets is because when a normal cat goes feral it usually kills about 1000 animals so the government is thinking what if this cat gets out. The government is deciding to ban them coming in because if a normal cat goes feral it usually eats about 1000 native Australian animals a year and the government thinks if these savannah cats get out the problem would become much worse and they think that the savannah is still to closely related to the African serval and they might be dangerous.

Breeders think much different they think that under there plan they would all be desexed and wouldn’t be able to breed. I think that they shouldn’t ban the savannah because it sounds like a great pet and it is playful.

Savannah cats are a cat that has been bred with a normal domestic cat and an African Serval. A lot of people want it In Australia but they are too dangerous if they become feral, so they want to ban them. People really want to keep the Savannah cat in their homes of Australia because they are faster, more fun and twice the size and they can even be walked on a lead like a dog. They can even jump higher and do more tricks. This is an awesome cat! But if they become banned there won’t be very happy people. People hate this cat and are very happy they’re being banned because they kill the native wildlife and they could hurt or maul a defenseless child to death. This cat could even become loose and could create havoc in the cities and they could also kill the farmer’s animals like the fox has done. Even the breeders are not happy because they have tried so hard to breed the Savannah cat. I think it will be really cool having a Savannah cat at home. But if they are going to do bad things if left loose and anyway I think the normal domestic is as good as it good as it gets.

Stars form all over the world are chased by the paparazzi. They just can’t get away, they’re everywhere. But there is big money in the industry so everyone who wants to get money fast just join the other million people trying to make some money. There are new laws in Europe and the United States. Their law is that if you take a photo of someone, the person you take the photo of has to say that you can sell the picture to newspapers or magazines. Read the rest of this entry »

Some people, like animal rights groups, think animals are being treated poorly when they’re on long truck trips to wool places, meat houses, auction yards and farms. Other people have a different opinion.

The RSPCA want almost the billion animals on long trips each year to be more comfortable. They say it is stressful for the animals to be standing on hard floors and being cramped for space. Read the rest of this entry »
