Some people want us to spend more money on sporting instead of training at local clubs like they used to so that they can get on top.  Because other countries are building their own Institutes of Sport and are raking in the medals, to keep the pride Australia has in the games, some people think we need to invest more money in  the AIS and in sport.

But some people like me think that we need more money in more important things like education and cures for disease. We should be looking after our environment, not building fancy sports stadiums and proving we can jump into some sand.

I think we need less money on sports and more money in our pockets, for more important things.

Australians used to train by just practicing there sport. But now the AIS offer full time scholarships and they hire the best scientists for the best results. Also in other countries there are using the same technology and numerous world records have been broken thanks to technology.

But that all costs money. To hire coaches’ staff and athletes is very expensive. Some people say it should be used in different ways like for education fixing problems like global warming and taking missions to mars.

I think that it’s good to be recognised for being good at sport and also to focus on education.

The Australian government should keep spending money on sport because since the 1976 Olympics Australia is now in the top 5 in the world of sport and if they stop again and it wouldn’t be fun to watch. If the athletes keep training hard they could end up being at the top of their game and be number 1# in the world.

The Australian Government shouldn’t be spending so much money on athletes because there are more important things than sport like hospital, science and the Green house gas.

I think they should be spending money on the athletes because sport is the most favourite thing to watch and when the scientist work on the athletes it might give them an idea for an invention.

People think the government is spending way too much money on athletes and should be spending it on more important things such as medicines and research. Australia used to always lose until the government setup the Australian institute of sport.

Lots of the athletes are happy that the government is spending lots of money on them because they want to be at there best when they go to the Olympics. Lots of Australians want the government to spend money on the athletes because they want to see Australia win.

I think the government should evenly spread the money between everyone.

Many people are talking about the Olympics and the Australian institute of S but some people believe that they aren’t spending enough money on producing the sports and ill give you some reasons why.

They believe that we aren’t doing as well in the Olympics. They aren’t getting medals in the cycling like they used to and the women’s hockey team are out and this is all because the other countries are spending more on their sport than we are.

But luckily I can give you some points for the idea. We can now spend more money on medical things and finding cures for cancer and making things safer and if a catastrophe happens we can spend more money on fixing the damage.

Over all I think everyone likes seeing our athletes getting medals but it is not that important and I think medical things are more important.  

First of all Australia has one of the worlds biggest reputation for sport and a good history as well.In the 1976 games Australia didn’t take any gold medals home at all this got Australia worryed.So in 1981 the Australian inatitute of sport was build.A place were they do tests and training to help our atheletes peform better at up coming events like the Olympics games in China and in four years time london.

So in 1981 the government built some thing called the, “Australian Institute of Sport”. The government built that to help the Olympic athletes train in this big centre so that they would get more medals that next Olympics. As the years went by it was time for the next Olympics to start again. That year Australia got 24 medals and 4 gold medals which is a big improvement!

The Australians are still using the centre right now except they are wondering now whether or not they should shut it down because other countries have found out about it and they have copied our idea! So now we won’t have as much of a chance any more!

To be honest I don’t really mind if the company gets shut down or not because it really doesn’t matter who wins its just for the fun of it!

Most people say we should keep spending lots of money on are athletes because we need to keep getting lots of medals to boost our national pride. Others say we need to put all this money into sport so we can pay all the coaches and scientist who are helping our athletes get better in their sport.

Some other people have a different opinion about this. They say that we should spend the money on education so that we can pay are teachers and we should give some of the money to the people who have stuff to do with medical things.

In conclusion I say that we should spend the money on our sport because I think most people like watching Australia win gold at the Olympic games.

So should we spend more money? Here are some points for spending more money so Australia has a better chance at the Olympic Games and so we can make more Australians fitter.

Why should we spend more money on athletes? Here are some points against spending more money on our athletes .We could be spending money on the medicine or for scientists to make new discoveries.

I think we should spend more money on our athletes because their already good enough and we could use the money for scientists or medicine.

Some people are saying that we shouldn’t put money into athletes because our health and education departments will suffer. The health care people say they should get paid more and get better equipment.

In 1976 Australia didn’t win 1 gold medal in the Olympics so in 1981 The AIS to the Australian Institute of sport was built. A lot of money was spent building the complex. In the next Olympics Australia won 24 medals, 4 of them were gold.

Some people say we should put even more money into sport so we can win even more medals and make our country proud. Even I think we should put more money in so when all the younger kids come through the institute they can take that next step to winning gold.

I think we should spend a bit more money and put more effort into sport so we can be one of the best countries ever. It might even encourage more people to get off the couch and play sport.
