Savannah cats are a cat that has been bred with a normal domestic cat and an African Serval. A lot of people want it In Australia but they are too dangerous if they become feral, so they want to ban them. People really want to keep the Savannah cat in their homes of Australia because they are faster, more fun and twice the size and they can even be walked on a lead like a dog. They can even jump higher and do more tricks. This is an awesome cat! But if they become banned there won’t be very happy people. People hate this cat and are very happy they’re being banned because they kill the native wildlife and they could hurt or maul a defenseless child to death. This cat could even become loose and could create havoc in the cities and they could also kill the farmer’s animals like the fox has done. Even the breeders are not happy because they have tried so hard to breed the Savannah cat. I think it will be really cool having a Savannah cat at home. But if they are going to do bad things if left loose and anyway I think the normal domestic is as good as it good as it gets.

In Australia we are going to start carbon emissions trading because of Rob Garnaut who studied global warming. He has said that the coral reefs might disappear and in Antarctica the ice is melting because the earth is getting warmer.

Rob Garnaut has said this is terrible so he has said that everything that uses carbon dioxide that people use they have to pay a lot more for it. So if Australia starts this other countries may follow and slow down global warming.

People are very against this because they are losing their jobs; it also means that some people might not have enough money to buy food. Some people think it is natural and employers may be sacked.

They could put money into a way of making carbon dioxide into electricity for scientist but at the moment people should be set to task.  

In Northern Territory in town called Yuendumu aboriginal children are making up their own hip hop song about their story living in an Australian community. Now they are performing at a concert called Wakakirri Festival which is performed all over Australia and they can only sing and dance to tell their story. There are over 200 aboriginal languages and they are will tell their story in their own language.

But some people think that they are American style of sing and dance so they look more like an American rather than an aboriginal.

On the other hand it is how the African Americans got their word across so the aboriginals could be trying to do the same thing.

If Indigenous storytelling stops, the aboriginals will not make song s about their stories and more about making songs. Hip hop is also a good way to keep aboriginal language alive.                                                                                       

This year Aussie rules football is celebrating its 150th Birthday and in the town of Santa Teresa in Central Australia indigenous people play football and are so determined to get into the AFL that they practise and train every night. The day the troops in 2003 left to go to war in Iraq and after five years the troops that have been fighting have come back home to their families.

They have been fighting to arrest Saddam Hussein the government of Iraq who had been mistreating his country and had been thought to have dangerous weapons and can damage a lot of things. Then they found Saddam Hussein in a secret hideaway underground and pleaded guilty and were arrested. Then hanged. But a lot of the troops are staying to build schools and help people in need.

But a lot of people didn’t like that Australia ever committed to this war in the first place. John Howard Australia’s old Prime Minister that sent the troops to Iraq thinks it’s too early for them to come back. Also a lot of people want the other 550 troops to come back to their families.

I think everybody should be happy with what our Australian troops have done and now they get to see their love ones again. If former governments should only pull out if their work is done. I think the Iraq people would be feeling happy about the troops leaving because they want the fighting to stop. But some people are sad because they’re still in need of help.  

There is a space probe called Phoenix which has the mission to land on Mars. But the NASA scientists are nervous about the probe travelling to Mars, because they spent 430 million dollars because the last 11 of the probes have crashed and burned. Read the rest of this entry »

The main point about this story is about bringing extinct animals back to life like the Tasmanian tiger which has been extinct for the last 70 years.  The Tasmanian tiger is also known as the Thylacine which meant ‘wolf head’ and ‘pouch dog’.  A lot of experts think that the Tassie Tiger became extinct because people like to shoot them, their habitats were also being destroyed and a lot of them were killed by disease. Rob Stewert wants sharks to be seen as flying in a 3 dimensional world with graceful dragons. Rob Stewert says if the myth is true that sharks eat humans then the ocean would be terrifying. A marine sanctuary is a place where marine animals can not be captured by fisherman and can breed. Rob Stewert found that there were illegal fishing lines and about 200 sharks dead. Zoo Theme Park

In Victoria there aren`t enough jobs for everyone so at Werribee Zoo  they want to make a theme park there with all the animals there to attract more people to come.
