Cattle stations around the world a struggling to find workers because of this issue they are trying exceptionably hard to keep their businesses going. Anna Creek Cattle Station is 24,000 sq km and is the largest in the world and it’s located her in South Australia. Although there are a few problems, one is that there are only eight workers. One worker comes by the name of Sarah Amy she isn’t just a station hand but a cook, cleaner, gardener and book keeper. The station manager says that ladies are sometimes even better then men in this profession.
Blair Ireland came to Anna Creek after looking at an ad in a farming magazine Blair said that he loves cattle driving and riding motorbikes. Anna Creek is finding it hard only having eight workers that are carrying the entire load so they are trying a new way to attract people. By targeting kids with a new DVD that they have made for them to see how many would be interested in pursuing this career path. Many Cattle stations are finding it hard to fill up the jobs at their stations that are available. At Anna Creek there are many jobs available such as a pilot for heavy machinery like a grader they also need some cooks.
One of the great things if you work at a cattle station is that you can often meet people from around the world that have come to try this career and some of those people can end up being your friends for life. A problem that people can have is that you can be a bit isolated from a normal city life and may be far away from friends or family.
If farmers can’t find enough workers the will end up losing a huge amount of money that their properties produce throughout the year. This is a big issue and needs attending to as this could lead to devastation for Australian farmers.

A volcano was given its name from the Greek god Vulcan; Vulcan was the god of fire. Sixty Four years ago in March 1944 Mount Vesuvius the volcano erupted in its home in the Naples in Italy, The Naples is situated next to Salerno and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Even though Vesuvius is an extinct volcano it can still erupt. When volcanoes haven’t erupted for thousands of years they are named extinct as they probably won’t erupt but there is a chance that they are still active and may erupt. Scientists are still worried that Vesuvius could blow today so they are putting down Vesuvius’s every heartbeat. They are watching its change in size from satellite photographs and predicting on when it could next erupt so that they don’t have a repeat of what happened to the City of Pompeii two thousand years ago. When the whole city was polluted with ash which meant that people were paused in their positions of what they were doing when the ash flowed into the village.
When Vesuvius erupted two thousand years ago, it was a pyroclastic eruption which is when hot ash and Rocks cascade down the side of the mountain. It destroys everything that stands in the way of its path. It is literally impossible to outrun the eruption. This eruption is a lot more dangerous than when a volcano erupts with Lava; Lava is hot molten rock and flows very slowly. Especially when compared top pyroclastic eruption.
If I lived for instance in the Naples I would make sure that I had somewhere that I could go if an eruption occurred. But I would probably find somewhere that didn’t have an active volcano on the edge of the city or town.
Over the years oil around the world has been going up in price. Therefore fuel has shot through the roof in pricing around the world.
The Australian government is just about to introduce fuel watch to all other states aside from Western Australia the system was introduced eight years ago people in Western Australia have responded well to this. The system is so that people can find the closest and lowest prices off the internet website. All petrol stations enter the prices that they will be selling the next day to the government it is then transferred onto the website so everyone will be able to see the prices. The ACCC has said that people should save around two cents a litre.
This will help most people who have the internet as they can find the lowest prices before they go driving. Then again it might be hard for some as it means that if all Petrol Stations go for higher prices you could be paying more than at the start, for example if you spent around 3 thousand on Petrol a year it might mean that you would have to deduct that off something else that you spend money on so that you aren’t losing as much. For the smaller and more local Petrol Stations it will mean that it might be harder for them to compete against the bigger named Petrol Stations.
Around the world the issue of Oil prices is occurring. Just now there have been truckies protesting in Europe. On the border of Spain they have also been stealing a bit of petrol to get through. In America a family has begun riding their horses instead of driving cars around.
Now with Global warming on the verge some car companies are finding bigger and better ideas to save fuel consumption and save the environment from pollution with Hybrid cars. Toyota are said to be releasing a plant in Australia.
With fuel prices rising many people are looking to reduce their consumption of fuel by walking down to the shops, finding shorter routes to get to their destination and maybe even riding their bike or just walking to work.
