Strikes can be a big problem. Lately lots of teachers over five different states went on strike. They went on strike to try and get a pay rise. This can be quite powerful because kids have to have a day off and not learn. Parents may have to have the day off work so they can look after their kids. It’s coming up to the Beijing Olympics and the gymnasts are having there trials. At the start there were 16 girls now there are only 9 and at the next trials there is only going to be 6 girls. Australia is running out of Dairy farmers because people are moving to the city away from farms and instead of being dairy farmers they are going in to the mine industry. They are teaching kids at school about dairy farming so they start to like it and maybe choose it for their job/industry, also so they don’t run out of dairy farmers if they do run out of dairy farmers there will not be much dairy like milk or cheese. His is caused by fewer people choosing the industry because you don’t make a lot of money and in things like veterinary you make a lot of money. If young people don’t work in the dairy industry we might not have very much food or have no food in the dairy section. This program that is running at mt. compass area school is trying to get the young children o become dairy farmers. The name of the program that looks at the dairy industry is called cows to careers.
